Informal Resolutions (ADR)*
An Informal Resolution may be attempted when a complaint of a minor nature is made to the CPC. Informal Resolution requires the consent of both the complainant and the RCMP member(s) involved. CPC Complaints Analysts assist with conflict resolution by creating a positive climate for communications between the complainant and the RCMP.
When Informal Resolution is attempted, the complainant retains the option of withdrawing from the process or pursuing their complaint formally if not satisfied with the outcome of the Informal Resolution.
Allegations of statutory offences or improper "use of force" are not appropriate for Informal Resolution.
*ADR process is separate from the RCMP Informal Disposition process.
